Boats in the Rain Gutter

January rolled around and it was time for the Pack 55 Rain Gutter Regatta. How exciting it was for the 7-year old and his Uncle Robert to head to Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse in search of all the paint, tools, etc., necessary to build the bestest boat possible. Before he left for his adventure, the young lad exclaimed that his boat was going to "have stripes and all kind of really, really cool designs," but when it got down to it... he just couldn't imagine painting it any other color than El Dorado Wildcat Purple and he sure couldn't give the boat any other number than his favorite Wildcat number, 35. And in an effort to not be completely predictable.... he did throw on a couple of Batman stickers for good measure. The big event finally arrived and Colby was pumped to "blow" his boat to victory; winning the first three heats, but getting beat by a millimeter with a final huff and a puff from his opponent. The agony of defeat only bothered him for a few seconds though.... refreshments were served and a good sugar rush was just the cure he needed to take the edge off of losing.
