December 5, 2008..... Colby & his mom packed up all the blankets, scarves, hats and gloves that they can find and marched themselves down the street to War Memorial Stadium to watch those fabulous El Dorado Wildcats take on the stinkin' Lake Hamilton Wolves for the 6A State Championship title. It was a very cold and frigid night, but that couldn't dampen the spirits of the fantastic fans that cheer on the El Dorado Wildcats week after week after week. Colby's beloved Wildcats played their hearts out; however, in the end it was Lake Hamilton who walked away with the State Championship title. HOWEVER..... (and this be Colby's mom on a rant) we would rather watch El Dorado play and lose every game with the class and sportsmanship that they exhibited all season, then watch the likes of the players and coaches from Lake Hamilton. This rant comes not due to the fact that they beat the Wildcats, but from the poor sportsmanship and absolute lack of class that they utilized in winning the game. On an even more depressing note.... this was the 2nd time that Colby's mom watched the Wildcats come up short in the State Championship game, so she may not be invited back the next time. It was a great season -- one to be extremely proud of..... and we love, love, love our El Dorado Wildcats. Go Cats!
